ABOUT THE BRAND 

‘Together lets stop our undies from going to landfill’

Founded in 2021 by LCF Fashion Contour Graduate Lauren Finn, Dear Planet offers beautiful, luxury lingerie that breaks down in the ground, compost bin or plant pot in as little as one year. 

The underwear you are wearing right now will take at least 200 years to break down, if at all… these tiny objects are clogging up our landfills, unhygienic to buy second hand and almost always made from plastic.

Spotting a gap within the market for zero waste, design led lingerie Dear Planet was born. Its mission to pioneer for a greener lingerie industry by making garments that decomposed. Focusing on three main objectives, sustainability, ethics and transparency a brand that leaves no conscious stone unturned. 

Each collection is inspired by a vision of the world in which humanity lives in harmony with the planet. Taking elements from man made and natural elements, focusing on the similarities and differences each collection aims to showcase a balanced world.

MEET THE FOUNDER

Hi I am Lauren, the founder of Dear Planet. I started Dear Planet back in 2018, with just an idea and a passion for both sustainability and lingerie. At the time the sustainable fashion market was limited and my dream seemed so far away but with time came growth and innovation. Every day I am inspired by the rapid pace in which this field is growing and the unimaginable green solutions that are emerging. 

My favourite quote from the sustainable community I have found online is ‘it is about everyone doing their bit, not a few doing it perfectly’ and this is exactly what Dear Planet encapsulates. At its core the brand and myself have very strict values which I will never deviate from, however the scope and opportunity for bigger and better things in the future is so overwhelming yet exciting. I can’t wait to grow my brand with you by my side. 

I am a self proclaimed feminist, activist and zero waster. Stepping into such a polluting industry when I myself was actively living zero waste did not sit right with me, I wanted to create a brand that encapsulated all of my values. I want Dear Planet to be the pioneer for change, not just for sustainability but also for ethical and transparent practices. 

I will do all that I can to educate, change and demolish current standard fashion norms in the hope of building a greener world.
